David L'Herroux

DAVID L’HERROUX CHIEF EXECUTIVE

David started his career as a cleaner/porter in a well-known retail chain. Building a career based on biblical principles, David moved up rapidly and eventually ended up in the boardroom as he became the head of the discount chain division in 1996 for the same retailer. In 1997, with his wife Jackie, he founded OneHope in the UK. David stepped out of the retail world in 2001 to become full-time National Director for OneHope, and in 2004 he joined UCB as a Trustee. It was in 2007 that David moved onto staff as Executive Director, and has now transitioned into the role of Chief Executive. He is also the Europe Regional Director for UCB Affiliates. David counts it as a privilege to serve as a member of the Evangelical Alliance Council, something he has been involved in since 2015. For over 30 years, David has also served as part of the Leadership Team in his local church, Bethel.

 

Meet Mark Oakes, one of our UCB Trustees

MARK OAKES DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Mark’s life can be summed up in two words that have been key: worship and evangelism. Involved in worship and music since the age of 15, he has helped people encounter and experience Jesus at a local church and national level. For two decades, he served as the UK Director for the evangelistic ministry Christ for all Nations, alongside Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda, and he saw salvation on an epic scale. As Director of Communications at UCB, Mark is responsible for leading the Communications Team (supported by the rest of the organisation) in sharing God’s vision for UCB, and inviting our listeners, viewers and readers to support our mission. 

 

Sheron Ferguson

SHERON FERGUSON DIRECTOR OF ACADEMY DEVELOPMENT

As a consultant, licensed trainer, and assessor with the Institute of Fundraising and the Directory of Social Change (DSC), Sheron became a national trainer of the professionally accredited Certificate in Fundraising Management, and lead trainer for the Institute of Fundraising’s Special Interest Group FICO (Fundraisers in Christian Organisations). Sheron joined UCB in January 2010, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the media, commercial and voluntary sectors. Until April 2022, Sheron was UCB’s Director of Communications, but her passion for training and empowering people to reach their God-given potential led her to step into her current role as Director of Academy Development, working on developing the UCB Kingdom Academy into a global training institution designed to equip the church and its people for growth.

 

Alison Macpherson

ALISON MACPHERSON OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

With 25 years’ experience of working in a hospitality sector FTSE 100, Alison has experience of working across many businesses, and in a number of different capacities. Alison started working in Operations from 1st of January 2016, having joined UCB, initially as a volunteer in Autumn 2013, and then on contract in the Development team. Her past experience can be applied to the wide and varied responsibilities of Operations: Facilities & Hospitality, Prayerline, and Supporter Care & Mail.  

 

Ian De Soyza

IAN DE SOYZA DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY

Ian joined UCB UK in 2014 as Technology Director, having worked in IT and IT Management for almost 30 years. Over his career he has worked for the NEC, the Police service, TNT International, IBM UK, Waterford-Wedgwood, and Rolls Royce Aero-Engines, working in multiple business areas including Accounting, Retail, Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, HR, mobile technologies, and crime and intelligence systems. Ian started in the IT industry as an applications developer, before successively moving on to database design, account and project management, and systems solutions design. His specialisms are also in contract management and systems procurement.

 

David Taviner

DAVID TAVINER DIRECTOR OF BROADCASTING

After more than 30 years working for the BBC, David joined UCB in 2011, and now oversees the Radio Department – a truly gifted team of dedicated presenters, producers, journalists, programmers, and audio engineers. Having started in local radio at BBC Radio Humberside and then working on BBC Television’s Songs of Praise programme for many years, David combines his background as a broadcaster with his experience in media production. He has a particular passion to help people better understand the Bible – so why not subscribe to some of his UCB podcasts, such as The Bible in 30 Minutes and Bible Biogs in 30 Minutes.

 

Richard Willoughby

RICHARD WILLOUGHBY COMPANY SECRETARY

Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 and spent much of his career working for KPMG. In 1991 he began his own consultancy business and acted for a wide range of SME’s across a number of sectors, producing management accounts, financial forecasts, and related financial and management information. Richard began working for UCB in 2000. As well as being Company Secretary, he oversees the work of Health and Safety, HR, and Learning and Development within the organisation. Richard works closely with David and the Board of Trustees on all legal and financial matters.

Alan Scotland

ALAN SCOTLAND CHAIRMAN

Alan is a former student of Trinity School of Ministry (when it was based in Swansea and known as the Bible College of Wales). He and his wife, Betty, have been in ministry for over 35 years, travelling extensively throughout the UK and into Africa, USA, South America, China, Hong Kong, India, and Europe. Alan and Betty founded Lifelink International, which comprises an international group of churches and ministries.

 

David Edwards

DAVID EDWARDS TRUSTEE

Bishop David Edwards currently serves with his wife, Linda, as a full time pastor at the New Testament Church of God in Edmonton, London. David has worked for many years in various management roles within local government, Department of Children and Families Services, and as a Trainer/ NVQ Assessor for Health & Social Care staff.

 

Neil Elliot

NEIL ELLIOTT TRUSTEE

Neil moved to the UK in 2008 to take up the role of Head of UCBTV, and later the role of Broadcasting Director. Prior to this, he helped pioneer the Australian Christian Channel and held the role of General Manager for the first 10 years of its operation. Before bec9omign involved in Christian media, Neil was a primary school teacher, and then managed a number of distance education projects for the Victorian Government. Neil returned to Australia in 2014, but continues to work one day a week on special projects.

 

Simon Mccrossan

SIMON MCCROSSAN TRUSTEE

Simon McCrossan is a barrister with specialisms in employment, personal injury, and civil litigation. He holds a specialist LLM in employment law, and is focused on cases of religious and wider civil liberties. Previously, he was Head of Public Policy for the Evangelical Alliance UK, and before he was called to the Bar, Simon worked as a teacher in secondary education. He is also an experienced law lecturer, having tutored both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Simon has contributed towards Christianity in the Workplace: An Employer’s Guide to Christian Beliefs, and is a contributing author to Speak Up: a Guide to the Law and Your Gospel Freedoms, which was welcomed in parliament, by the then Prime Minister Theresa May, as highlighting ‘the jealously guarded principle of the ability to speak freely, respectfully and responsibly about one’s religion’.

 

Diana Stacey

DIANA STACEY TRUSTEE

Diana Stacey, who has been pastoring since 1981, is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Centre USA. Diana has been pastoring for over 30 years, and is currently the Pastor of Grace Family Church in Liverpool.

 

HELEN YOUSAF TRUSTEE

Helen is an itinerant Minister and counts it all joy to join with every kind of Kingdom people to worship Jesus and draw them to the Father's heart. She is passionate about being creative in worship and encourages people to bring their own unique expression to every gathering and every space so that the body of Christ might be encouraged, and King Jesus would be magnified. Helen is married to Shakeel Yousaf, who she met whilst on mission in Pakistan in 1994. They have two teenage daughters, Abbie and Olivia, and they live in Romford, just outside East London.
